Pallets

Pallets are located in the middle warehouse. If our inventory of stack pallets is diminishing call UPS at 215-937-2575 or 2574 and notify them we need more pallets. The UPS dispatchers will send them the next day.

  • All broken pallets that are beyond repair are disposed of. They are placed in the dumpster and picked up weekly.
  • All repairable pallets are located in the back warehouse where they are repaired and put back into inventory for use.

Forklift Operation

A training film and certification test is required to operate the forklift unless one can be Submitted for our records. Certified employees will be trained for the basic maintenance such as adding water to the battery [safety glasses must be worn when performing battery maintenance] and doing a basic forklift inspection before forklift is put into use. The inspection must be done daily and recorded in forklift repair and maintenance binder for MSI records.

General warehouse rule’s

Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn in the warehouse to ensure safety. Refer to the Employee handbook for a detailed description of the dress code. Employee orientation to the warehouse should include familiarization with exits as well as fire extinguishers. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the warehouse. All pallets must lay flat on the floor do not stand a pallet on its side for any reason this would be a safety violation also any areas marked with yellow lines must not be obstructed for any reason this is also a violation.

Eyewash Station

An eyewash station is located in the front warehouse on the wall next to the forklift battery charger also out side of the shipping office on the wall.

Bio-hazard Response kit

A bio-hazard response protective kit is located out side of the shipping office on the wall.

A training film on safety, which covers appropriate lifting techniques, and box cutting must be watched prior to working in the warehouse.

Baling the Cardboard

At the end of each day, all the cardboard should be taken to the baler and crushed. When the baler is at full capacity the bail of cardboard is wired and placed on a small pallet and taken to warehouse #14 where they are stored. When we have 20 pallets we call Accurate Recycling at 610-623-3700 for recycling they will send a flat bed truck to pick up the pallets.

Samples

Packaging samples for customers use must be done in a clean, sanitary environment. Employees are required to wear gloves when handling unsealed samples and when repacking reusable bed pads.

Trial Pack samples of most of our products are kept upstairs in the loft labeled by product and size. They are to be used for restocking the cabinets. An inventory of the samples should be taken every other week. Tena samples are placed with Margot at Essidy 1-800-992-9939. The carpets should be vacuumed and floor swept and mopped weekly. The counters and windowsills should be wiped also. Lavatories must be kept and sanitary.

Smoking is PROHIBITED in any indoor location on MSI property.
